Recent Days Inn Review: "The people who have reviewed this hotel must have near impossible standards. I'm a middle class family living in a middle class neighborhood in the SE USA. We go to Disney once a year for a weekend or once every other year for a week. I make under $100,000/year. I like nice things when I can afford them and am willing to make concessions when I can't.  After reading the reviews for this hotel, I was extremely nervous. My wife had a very minor medical procedure in CT and we decided to all go (me, wife, kid 17, kid 15) for support and then hit NYC as a vacation. After the procedure we were told that my wife needed to stay in bed for the entire next day. Then we could walk around and/or do whatever. Knowing we were going to be sitting in the hotel room for a full day made me very skeptical from the reviews I read; poor staff, noisy, dirty, old, no food around. This was not my experience at all! The staff was very courtious and answered all our questions about the subway and things around the hotel. The room was small, but still had room for 2 beds, a nice fridge, tv, wardrobe, and desk with chair. The bathroom had a marble tiled floor and marble countertops. My only complaint here was that the grip in the tub was a bit old and not as effective as it should have been. This made it very slippery but I purchased a bath mat and all was well. Because we had to stay the next full day in our room, we didn't need the cleaning service that day. So when they knocked on our door, all we asked for was clean towels. There was a bit of a language barrier and she ended up cleaning our bathroom and giving us clean towels and washcloths which was unexpected but very nice. For lunch we ate at a small restaurant across the street. I wouldn't say it was a nice establishment, but the food was well priced and they have a large variety to choose from. For dessert we walked about 5 blocks to a McDonald's. For dinner we grabbed some cold sandwiches from 7-11 directly behind the hotel. It was qu"
